. Review of project schedule, providing input to Project Manager
. On time and on budget delivery of the project
. Manage onsite budgets for labour and material
. Preparation of short term activity schedules
. Establish rapport with Owner / Consultant representatives on-site
. Communicate with project consultants and owner representatives
. On-site purchasing within limits of authority
. Expediting the work, mobilizing Trade Contractors, implementing the terms and conditions of contracts
. Establishing and maintaining site security
. Ensuring that the quality of work is completed to the highest standard
. Arranging for the installation, maintenance and removal of temporary services
. Implementing the Corporate Health and Safety program
. Mobilizing, monitoring and maintaining the Company's on-site forces
. Implementing deficiency inspections and correction programs
. Monitoring on-site equipment, both owned and rented
. Be familiar with cost estimate and allocate labour and material costs against codes applicable to the project
. Other special duties as assigned.
Education
. College, technical school or university education in Engineering Construction Management or Architectural Technology
. Gold Seal Certification from Canadian Construction Association or International CIOB, AIC and/or PQS including relevant education from a recognized college/university pertaining to the construction industry would be an asset
Other Characteristics
. Ability to work flexible hours and possibly weekends
. Minimum 5 years in construction management for large construction projects
