To manage all aspects of a Project from start through to the successful completion. 

Responsibilities: 

The scope of the role of Senior Project Manager encompasses overall project performance including the following:
 

  • Promoting a culture of safety.
  • Leadership with respect to assigned project.
  • Compliance issues relating to company and regulatory health and safety programs, other company policies and requirements, insurance, contract terms, quality, environment and sustainability.
  • Commercial Management issues including insurance, prime contract management, procurement, sub-contract and supplier management, project cost management, project billings, changes and financial success.
  • Project planning and implementation including scheduling, monitoring, reporting and resource management.
  • Documentation and record keeping such as correspondence, progress reporting, cost reporting, meetings, submittals and project close out requirements.
  • Client liaison and relationships
     
Requirements: 

Education

  • College, technical school or university education in Engineering Construction Management or Architectural Technology
  • Gold Seal Certification from Canadian Construction Association or International CIOB, AIC and/or PQS including relevant education from a recognized college/university pertaining to the construction industry would be an asset  

Skills

  • Proficiency with computerized estimating software, and MS Office Suite
  • Time management skills
  • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English

Abilities

  • Ability to manage and work under high levels of stress

Other Characteristics

  • Minimum 10 years in construction management for large construction projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction estimating and work winning would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Private Public Partnerships would be an asset
  • Commercial experience in working with site teams from preconstruction to project closeout.
  • This will include award of trade contracts, billing and management of monthly payments.
