Safety

Carillion is proud of our safety record. We know that our safety record is the envy of others in the construction and services industries.
Carillion Canada has made significant strides to ensure that our workplaces are the safest possible. The Target Zero program that was launched throughout Carillion in 2005 clearly sets a goal of zero accidents. To achieve Target Zero everyone must do their part and work safely.
However, health and safety is more than just having detailed procedures and documentation. It is about people working safely and taking the time to watch out for others. This includes Carillion workers and contractors working with us. At Carillion, this is the cornerstone of our health and safety program.
Carillion is also proactive in monitoring all subtrades at construction sites. A high degree of vigilance is required to meet the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Carillion Canada has certainly raised the bar. All work sites undergo regular inspections, worker training and investigation of incidents to ensure that we understand what went wrong and how to prevent similar occurrences.
Our safety mantra is “Don’t Walk By, Take Action Now!” Because of the diligence of all our employees, both on site and in the office, Carillion Canada’s safety performance has improved. The “Don’t Walk By” program is pivotal to our health and safety success and everyone does their part.
